The future is bright, the future is farming.

The future is bright, the future is farming.

With all the field work complete and Mother Nature doing her thing over the winter months we had time to welcome two groups of students to our farm.   The first, a group of high school students from the east of France, stopped by as part of a tour looking at pedigree breeds and food production in Ireland.  We were very impressed with their curiosity and initiative – they had organised the tour themselves – hiring two minibuses and driving themselves here directly from France.   It was a lovely morning and they got to see our newly established fold grazing in the sunshine.

And in February we welcomed a group of second year Ag students from Dundalk IT and Ballyhaise to Kilberry.   The students got to see first hand the workings of a commercial tillage farm.  We were delighted to welcome such a great bunch of young men and women to our farm – the next generation of farmers!
